1916 EASTER RISING LECTURE TOURS OF THE U.S.A. October '06

Lorcan Collins is the founder of the 1916 Rebellion Walking Tour and co-author with Conor Kostick of the Easter Rising. Lorcan's next tour of U.S. universities, schools and historical societies is planned for October 2006. Using a slide projector Lorcan gives lectures on the foundation of the Irish State from the Easter Rising to the War of Independence and Civil War.

NEW YORK LECTURE
In February 2002, Lorcan was invited to speak at the American Irish Historical Society on Fifth Avenue, New York. Mr. William Cobert, the Society's Director: "The lecture was excellent and well attended and the night in question turned into a very interesting debate. I can recommend Mr. Collins to any organisation." The American Irish Historical Society was founded over a hundred years ago and regularly holds lectures given by historians, writers, poets and artists. Lorcan's lecture was funded by The Arts Council of Ireland.

TENNESSEE LECTURE

Lorcan visited Carson-Newman College in East Tennessee in February 2002. A lecture was held on The Easter Rising and Lorcan also visited some of the classes held on Irish Literature. You can read Professor Andrew Hazucha and Professor Shawn O'Hare's recommendation letters on Lorcan. Carson-Newman is a Liberal Arts college in Jefferson City.

NEW ORLEANS LECTURE

Lorcan Collins was invited to speak at Loyola University, New Orleans in February 2002. He spoke on The Birth of the Irish Republic and gave a seperate lecture on Michael Collins. Please read Professor Mary McCay's letter of recommendation for Lorcan.
