The HistoryDublin BurningDublin city centre in flames during the Rising. The British army pounded this area of Sackville Street (O'Connell Street) using artillery shells and incendiary devices. Many fires were also caused by the looters much to the annoyance of James Connolly who was trying to emancipate the very people who were sullying the reputation of his Insurrection. |
